Microtunnelling of 250m drives of 2400mm tunnel in a sea crossing and under the Meena Zayed Road. The construction of this tunnel required the excavation of 21m deep launching and exit pits to provide the minimum cover to the sea bed. Due to the very high water table a sheet pile method was adopted for the 21m deep pits.
The project consisted of providing all microtunnelling supervisory staff, personnel, tools, plant and equipment, consumables, HSE equipment and all materials as necessary to safely carry out the construction activities.
